Job Title: Pharmacy Cashier
Work Unit: Pharmacy
Reports To: Pharmacy Head
Salary: ETB 10,627.00
Duties and Responsibilities
- Count and effect collections of the drugs dispensary or other transactions of the outlet, give changes to clients as required, and issue receipts.
- Draw cash from bank against written orders and deposit collections and unclaimed salaries in bank timely.
- Pay out cash against written orders and obtain receipts.
- Keep records of amount received and paid and reconcile cash balance with records.
- Encode the transaction data of the outlet in a cash register machine in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Check cash balance against transactions at end of day.
- Keep banknotes and denominations (changes) or other negotiable instruments sorted to avoid possible errors and facilitate disbursements.
- Count and record cash at the beginning and end of each cash period of duty and prepare reconciliation statements.
- Verify cash held against records.
- Effect authorized payments to a requesting party after thoroughly checking for fulfilment of approval procedures by authorized officials of the program and the Society as the case may be.
- Take utmost care of cash custody and make proper use of such working equipment as adding machines and cash registers, and keep cash collections and disbursements registered and records updated.
- Pay salaries, per diems and advances to employees of the outlet based on approved payment documents and other pertinent supporting documents or facilitates.
- Cross-reference bank deposit slips or checks deposits to cash receipts/cash sales invoices to which they relate.
- Sort out and arrange receipts and payments-related documents and distribute the right number of copies to complete internal control procedures.
- Check the correctness of daily cash collection, deposit report and attached receipts.
- Keep the petty cash of the outlet; summarize all petty cash payments and replenish same as required.
- Stamp payment documents as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities of the job as assigned by the Pharmacy Head.
Qualification
- First degree, college diploma, or TVET Level IV/III certificate in Accounting.
- 2/4 years of relevant experience.
