Key Responsibilities

Safety, Food Safety, and Sustainability

  • Works in accordance with the defined and implemented HEINEKEN Safety, Food Safety, and Sustainability standards in the utilities area and local regulation(s).
  • Contributes to, applies, and follows the safety agenda in the utilities area.
  • Identifies safety points that need improvement and participates in safety teams.

Operational Excellence

  • Executes and operates utilities work according to required quality specifications.
  • Operates and controls Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) equipment to provide an uninterrupted resource supply to production at an optimum level of performance.
  • Runs technical checks and operations, including vibration monitoring, pressure checks, blow downs, and lubrication checks.
  • Ensures readiness of standby equipment and maintains clean parts and tools.
  • Manages work permits and installation handovers for utilities.
  • Manages WWTP and utilities plant operations, including conducting all necessary lab analysis.

Loss Control and Digitalization

  • Controls trigger points to eradicate losses in the operation (water, energy, extract, material losses, etc.).
  • Improves shop floor conditions by utilizing tools on digital devices and performing automated tasks.
  • Actively identifies opportunities for time efficiency using the ECRS (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange, Simplify) approach.
  • Assists in creating digital solutions to improve departmental or functional operations.

Maintenance and Technical Support

  • Performs equipment adjustments to optimize operations and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to sustain basic machine conditions.
  • Diagnoses and maintains equipment to keep the Restore Basic Conditions (RBC) of the machines.
  • Engages in overall and service maintenance for all utilities and WWTP machines.
  • Executes basic maintenance tasks according to standards and remains actively involved in improvement activities.
  • Carries out and optimizes corrective and preventive maintenance tasks in a safe and hygienic manner to safeguard equipment availability.
  • Follows the planned maintenance schedule and HACS implementation.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Reports deviations and informs the Utilities Manager accordingly.
  • Captures and interprets performance data to execute corrective actions.
  • Registers stops and analyzes data to indicate results.
  • Creates work requests for maintenance in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with master data processes.
  • Generates utilities and WWTP breakdown Work Orders (WO) with high quality, ensuring proper Breakdown Analysis (BDA) and follow-up.

Leadership and Improvement

  • Coaches and trains operators and develops shift competency through CGR.
  • Covers for the Utilities Manager or Team Lead position whenever delegated.
  • Works alongside the Utilities & Brewhouse Zone Technician and reports to the Utilities Manager.
  • Initiates and leads improvement teams on utilities and the WWTP.
  • Executes 5S, the tagging process, and CILT (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Tighten); applies problem-solving tools such as BDA and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Recovers equipment from fault conditions into standard conditions and validates repairs and solutions for breakdowns.

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • Greater than 4 years of working experience within utilities and WWTP operation and maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance and operations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
