Job Description
The Inspirator will place a strong emphasis on increasing young women's engagement in violence prevention and response initiatives. The role involves mobilizing young people and community members to actively participate in peacebuilding, social accountability, and conflict transformation efforts.
Key Activities
Women & Youth Empowerment
- Support young women from local General Practices (GPs) to engage with Women and Women's Groups (WWG) interventions.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, guidance, and training on facilitation, advocacy, and lobbying skills for young women and youth.
- Support young women in organizing movement actions to challenge and prevent occurrences of violence.
- Participate in youth-focused committees and structural platforms to ensure active and sustained engagement of young women.
Peacebuilding & Conflict Transformation
- Support and facilitate structured peace dialogue sessions among diverse groups of young people.
- Collaborate directly with young women peace ambassadors to promote peaceful coexistence among local communities.
- Support the mobilization of young people and community members for volunteer work and localized humanitarian responses.
Campaigns, Service Provision & Administration
- Organize targeted campaign actions in schools and villages to reduce aggravating factors of violence and eliminate harmful traditional practices.
- Facilitate emergency service provision for GBV survivors by establishing links and safe referrals to designated One-Stop Centers.
- Continuously support the WWG with data documentation and the facilitation of official communication with respective governing bodies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
About You (Qualifications & Experience)
Education & Core Experience
- Education: Degree graduate, preferably in the Social Sciences or a related field of study.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years and above of experience working directly with youth-led organizations and young people.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
- Practical experience in coaching, mentoring, and guiding youth groups.
- Direct familiarity with the OCAT (Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool), democracy and good governance principles, GRPS, social accountability, and climate justice.
- Highly familiar with national and international policies and procedures surrounding youth engagement and climate change adaptation.
- Prior working exposure or coordination with youth-focused government offices and ministries.
