Main Job Purpose
The Country SHE Manager holds overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at the country level. S/he works closely with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and execution plans aimed at sustainably reducing injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental footprint. This role oversees operations at the Dukem factory site alongside the head office location.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Deployment & Risk Management
- Deploy global and cluster SHE strategies, corporate policies, and technical standards across all national operations.
- Drive comprehensive SHE risk assessments, operational controls, incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and legal compliance audits.
- Support Behavior-Based Safety programs, Process Safety Management (PSM/SIMAS), project safety installations, and crisis management frameworks.
Supply Chain, Logistics & Safety Culture
- Lead Go-to-Market, logistics, warehousing, contractor safety, and transport safety initiatives in strict alignment with Unilever standards.
- Influence senior leadership to embed a proactive, line-managed safety and environmental culture across the organization.
- Direct and develop local SHE teams to maximize performance, capability building, safety training, and peer coaching.
Environmental Performance & Governance
- Improve site-level environmental footprint across waste reduction, carbon emissions, water conservation, energy efficiency, and effluent management KPIs.
- Oversee country-level SHE governance, ensuring European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) compliance, data accuracy, and CSHEC committee effectiveness.
Experiences & Qualifications
Required Profile:
- 5–10 years of progressive professional experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) is essential.
- Direct working experience within Supply Chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment.
- Proven track record of strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and end-to-end project management.
