Plant Protection Experts (2 Positions)

Job Purpose

To supervise and maintain all farmland free from pesticide, herbicides, etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and conduct periodic reviews and appraisals of the situation of plant pest and pesticide problems in the farm.
• Advise the farm manager on necessary actions to implement pest and pesticide management techniques.
• Prepare pest assessment schedule (variety, plot).
• Prepare pest assessment reports in type of pests, stage of the pest and/or the attack level and submit the report daily for decision.
• Collect samples of unknown pests and weeds and submit to the nearest supervisor for identification.
• Assess the post-spraying pest control chemical efficacy.
• Keep records of sprayed plots and varieties regularly.
• Inspect the chemical spraying activity on the field and check the technique and condition of spraying, recommend corrective action.
• Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualification and Skills

Education

• BSc or MSc in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Horticulture or related fields of study.

Experience

• 5 years of relevant experience.
