Job Description


The Humanitarian Program Coordinator (Livelihood, Education and GBV Prevention & Response) is a critical role within the program team, tasked with the successful implementation of humanitarian programs within the ELiDA portfolio.

ELiDA is seeking a dedicated and strategic leader to protect and empower vulnerable populations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of humanitarian programs, ensuring that all interventions are survivor-centered, safe, and implemented according to international humanitarian standards.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Technical Strategy & Program Design

  • Coordinate multi-sectoral programs funded by UNTF, OCHA/EHF, AFD, Malala Fund, FCDO, and other institutional donors.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive gender and social inclusion strategies and tools tailored for ELiDA’s humanitarian programs.
  • Conduct frequent gender analyses and trend assessments to identify barriers to equality and opportunities for women’s empowerment.
  • Ensure gender-responsive and socially inclusive approaches are embedded in program planning, implementation, and M&E practices.

2. Program Implementation & Technical Support

  • Provide hands-on technical and backstopping support to field teams in GBV, Education, and Livelihood programs to ensure execution within agreed timeframes.
  • Apply and promote a survivor-centered approach, ensuring all case management and GBV guiding principles are strictly followed.
  • Ensure all activities meet IASC Guidelines, GBV Minimum Standards, SPHERE, CHS Commitments, and standards for age and disability inclusion.
  • Manage donor reporting, communications, and team/staff performance, coaching, and mentoring.

3. Safeguarding, Advocacy & Partnerships

  • Act as the primary focal point for all Safeguarding and SEA (Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) cases, managing them with the utmost confidentiality alongside the Executive Directress.
  • Coordinate national and sub-national advocacy campaigns to influence structures imposing barriers to gender equality.
  • Represent ELiDA in Protection, GBV AoR, and CP AoR coordination groups.
  • Strengthen active partnerships with government agencies and NGOs to improve referral systems for Child Protection and GBV.

4. Capacity Building, Learning & Budget Management

  • Develop and deliver capacity-building interventions to help staff and partners integrate gender and social inclusion into daily operations.
  • Compile and document success stories, good practices, and lessons learned.
  • Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring transparent planning, procurement, and adherence to donor and ELiDA financial guidelines.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Gender Studies, Project Management, Development Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, International Development, or Humanitarian Action.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience coordinating programs with gender and social inclusion aspects in the civil society sector.
  • Preferable working experience with major donor-funded projects (FCDO, GAC, Malala Fund, UNTF, OCHA, AFD).

Core Knowledge Areas

  • Deep understanding of GBV in emergencies, Education in Emergencies (EiE), multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA), and Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA).
  • Strong grasp of CHS Commitments, SPHERE standards, age/disability inclusion, and minimum standards on child protection.
  • Knowledge of gender analysis methods, tools, and international frameworks related to gender and social inclusion.
  • Strong commitment to working within women-led civil society organizations.
