Job Description
The Ethiopian Women Lawyers' Association (EWLA) was established at the federal level in 1995 by female legal professionals and was registered as a civil society organization. For the last 30 years, it has been working to stand for justice and equality for Ethiopian women. It implements 5 major programs, including Advocate for Women's Rights, Public Education and Capacity Building, Comprehensive Free Legal Aid Service, Empower Female Legal Professionals and Foster Networking in the Legal Sector, as well as Professional Ethics and Quality Legal Services. The Association has its headquarter in Addis Ababa, and regional branch offices in Adama, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Gambella, Asosa, Jigjiga, Semera, and Dire Dawa. Moreover, it has established 57 volunteer committees at zonal and district levels and launched a multilingual toll free hotline center "7711" which provides services in Amharic, Afaan Oromo, and Tigrigna.

Job Summary
Under the immediate supervision of the Legal Aid Coordinator, the Branch Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the regional EWLA activities; which includes establishing Zonal/woreda committees and following up their performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares annual plan and budget of the branch office
- Establishes committees at zonal and woreda levels
- Conducts regular monitoring visits to zones and woredas
- Conducts and controls the implementation of annual plan at branch, zonal and woreda levels
- Approves administrative and financial matters related to branch within the delegated authority and set policies and procedures
- Oversees, follows up and ensures that the legal aid service is given effectively to the victim women in the respective branch areas
- Maintains healthy and cordial relationship with law enforcement institutions and other organizations
- Prepares periodic reports related to activities of EWLA as well as regional legal practice and new legislation
- Initiates regional trainings such as paralegal training and actively participates in selecting the participants in accordance to set criteria
- Recruit employees at zonal and woreda level in consultation with EWLA's headquarter
- Represents the branch office at all forums
- Communicating with clients or employers about project, event or campaign expectations and goals
- Collaborating with clients or employers, finance teams and other team members on budgeting and allocating funds
- Delegating tasks to appropriate team members
- Managing deadlines and progress across the team to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget
- Organizing third-party providers and vendors to deliver elements that can't be produced in-house
- Overseeing the delivery of projects and making adjustments as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and high standards
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from customers and other project users to gauge satisfaction and success
- Receives customer inquiries and responds to customer issues in a timely and professional manner
- Performs any other duties assigned as required
Reporting Relationship
The Branch Legal Aid Coordinator is accountable to the Legal Aid Coordinator and shall report to her.

Academic Qualification
- Bachelor or master's degree in law or relevant field of studies
