About the Organization

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (Addis Chamber) is a voluntary business membership organization established by Proclamation Number 341/2003 and is the oldest, largest and strongest Chamber in Ethiopia, which represents a wide spectrum of businesses in and around Addis Ababa. It is a member of the World Chambers Federation and has a prominent place in the international network of chambers.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of the Arbitration Institute, the Arbitration Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, controls and supervises tasks of the Arbitration Institute and commercial dispute settlements among members and nonmembers. He/she provides support and advises on legislation when requested by the Director of the Institute on matters that affect the interests of members; manages and supervises institutional arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms; and advises members to resolve trade obstacles.


Qualification Requirement

  • LLM/LLB degree from a recognized higher learning institution
  • Must have a minimum of 10/8 years of work experience for BA and Master's degree holders respectively, out of which at least 8 years of experience for BA holders and 6 years of work experience for Master's degree holders in a related senior management position

Technical and Other Skills

  • Commercial Arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution skills
  • Good knowledge of legal research methods, the court system and procedures, legal ethics
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and solve problems
